They say that they listen, that they understand how we feel. But all they hear is words. They don't know how heavy the words felt on our tongue, how much strength it took to say them out loud. But no one hears that part of the story. 

Instead of yelling through glass walls, we find solace in the power of a pencil. There is no judgement, no expectations, no half-hearted words. Just us and a blank canvas, as it pieces together all the thoughts running through our heads. 

They ask why we write. Because nobody really listens.
