There's a certain amount of desperation and violence inherent in being forced to hide who—and what—you are. For Damien, Linnet, and Red this hits a little closer to home than usual. When an ancient enemy in the form of a multinational organization—the Útrýmir, or Exterminators—rears its head again, the three decide that they are the only ones who can stop it. They're wrong, of course, but that won't stop them from trying. At least they have a small advantage: one spits acid, one bites, and one throws fire.

The city of Under-London, the mound of the Unseelie Fey, has a history and heritage as rich as its ancient people: kings and queens, humans and fey, who have shaped the mound and its people from its humble beginnings to its most recent turmoils. There are Midir and Edaine, a lonely fey king and his lost wife; Cadeyrn, the desperate and furious sidhe soldier; Caroline and Wyn, a pair of star-crossed lovers; Martin and Sig, a duo who risk their hearts and lives for the safety of others. Through it all a single being, Hunt-Leader--an ancient being who controls a wild and ravenous host of spirits called the Sluagh--works in the goddess's name to bring peace and justice to humans and the Twelve Fine Families of the Fey alike.
