Mature
A young woman from Earth somehow appears in Mirkwood, very well knowing why she is there, but is still figuring out how she got there and how to stay alive. Middle Earth was a world she grew up with, so indeed she knows who lives in the realms of Tolkien's universe, but as she herself ends up in Thranduil's Halls, she must figure out how to stay friends with the king and earn his trust, without spilling secrets that could ruin everything. Constantly suspicious of the woman's behaviour and her mystery, Thranduil's interest towards her grows, but her stubbornness and bold confidence that almost levels with his own, makes it hard for a relationship to evolve. As time passes, secrets spill and the woman must fight to upkeep any form of trust. Will she succeed? Will she survive?

Upon finding yourself join the Fellowship thinking all was going well, you can't help but notice the livid glares of a certain blonde elf. Your gaze turns to meet the eyes of Legolas. Legolas, Prince of Mirkwood, knows who you are and detests you for it. Prove yourself, [Y/n]. Prove that blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb. 𐬺𞠬𐬺 Hello! This is an xReader for feminine persons, and it involves a ton of inspiration from Dark Souls, so yeah, if you're reading this and thinking; "Izalith? Isn't that the witch from that one game?"- to that I say, yes it is. I'm a huge geek for that trilogy... Also this is based off both the book AND movies. I'm hoping to capture quality realism in this book, since I never read a fanfic that feels genuine or authentic in the way characters would act, or speak. My writing isn't used to formality, imma try my best to make it sound like Middle Earth speech, but if you see any mistakes, please for the love of Eru, point it out and give me advice!!!! Other than that, if you have any questions, ask on my feed, and I'll answer it on here (if it's a popular question). Prepare for deep lore and symbolism!! There's a reason for everything that happens in this book, and you are the main focus of it all. THANKS FOR READING!!! BYEE

WATTYS SHORTLIST 2018 The heart desires the unreachable. A rare creature born of Middle Earth must undo the damage of her predecessor, who helped forge the Dark Lord's Ring of Power. Amidst her mental and physical weaknesses, she is challenged to become a warrior. If not, endless lives will be corrupted and extinguished. What is the key to defeating the shadows that threaten Middle Earth as well as the darkness that intends to smother her soul? Mirkwood is no exception to the kingdoms that are threatened by the Shadow. Instead of sailing to the undying lands, King Thranduil remains, creating a rift between him and Legolas, who stands against his father's pride and what appears to be insensibility. As he journeys with the Fellowship to destroy the Ring of Power, he begins to peel the layers of the mystery surrounding Mirkwood and himself - a mystery that draws him closer to the maiden that travels with them. The earthborn must sacrifice all to fulfill her destiny - desires for a peaceful life, family, fellowship, and love. Will those she journeys with encourage her selfless intentions, or will they challenge her being and all that she desires? Uncover the secrets of Mirkwood, witness the earthborn's battle, and discover the element of the heart. ***I do not own or have any affiliation with J.R.R.
