This child was to be sacrificed and killed, Katherina couldn't bare seeing a child get hurt so she took matters into her own hands. Going against her coven,she took the child and raised her as her own , Katherina was afraid of harm ever coming towards the child so when the child came up to age, she cast a spell which gave her and the child immortality. Doing this caused many other witches including her old coven to become more furious towards her , which lead both Katherina and Blake (the child)to go into hiding. Centuries later, they couldn't bare the suffering of being afraid all the time any longer , so they took new identities and hid away. Now struggling to fit into society and having to look over their shoulder constantly, Blake and Katherina have to be prepared for anything.
