1252 years ago in Tirion, the city of the Noldor in Aman, a young Loremaster was born. Quickly, however, murmurs of how he was 'different' gave unrest to an already distraught city, left disheveled after the Kinslayings and battles before their time. Aiwendil grew up in an abusive home, learning quickly how this strange power within him and his own heart were but a curse in the Lands of which he grew. When he reached a more mature age of 497, the elf began getting inquiries for marriage. His parents sought to strengthen the dying Noldorin line of elves. But Aiwendil's heart betrayed their ideals, being taboo in his thoughts of love for other males. He was cast away, sent to Middle Earth to live on his own, banished and hated like the rest of his brethren for their horrible crimes. But once arriving, Lord Elrond saw in him a great deal and made a promise. He would teach the elfling the ways of healing magics and loremastery whilst under his roof. For there were many great things he saw in his future, if not but stricken with more hardships along the way. He would need to be prepared. These are his chronicles. When dreams stop being dreams, things get confusing. Anna is back - back in a place she once thought was just a product of her imagination. The silvery locks, bluish-grey eyes, and the pointed ears prove that much. Her dreams were memories. The same memories that led up to her death... well, her first death, before she slipped through a crack in the Halls of Mandos. Ash, blood, and fire haunt her, the sounds of a dying, burning city echoing in her head whenever she tries to rest. Coming back from death is never easy. Death leaves scars on one's very soul, but who better to heal those wounds than the company of her kin? There's only one problem. Returning to her kin in Arda means facing the elf she sacrificed her life for. The one whose heart she broke all those years ago. But she doesn't have an option to stay away. Every day the call of the sea grows stronger for him, and it's not his time just yet. He is their emissary, and it's time they finally gave something back. Even if that something happens to be the love he's convinced he lost years ago. SEQUEL TO 'REMEMBER' PAIRINGS: Glorfindel/OC Crossposted on AO3 and ff.net, the link to my profile for AO3 is in my bio, and my username is the same anyway. I do not own the image on the cover and it has been used entirely for non-profit, but if the owner wishes for me to take it down, then please inform me. I also don't own Lord of the Rings - this is called a fanfiction for a reason.

The Elvenking is like a very strong, old tree, deeply rooted in the kingdom he pledged himself to protect. He also pledged himself to protect his heart from love, out of fear that it might weaken him, but that proved to be disastrous. Love... what daunting word rubbed in his face by that fearless redhead elleth during the battle in Dale. Is there any love left in him? Follows what happens with Thranduil and Tauriel after BOTFA, during the War of the Ring and further into the 4th Age. Mainly from Thranduil's POV and including canon events that are only briefly mentioned in the books. I try to respect the lore as much as I can. Apart from the romance, I wanted to explore Thranduil's character based on what we know about his life. Feedback and comments are much appreciated :) "His words were unforgiving again, hiding under the same cold tone he had for centuries, yet he could not believe them himself anymore. Tauriel was looking at him, her gaze seemingly piercing through his soul. His dream to restore Mirkwood to Greenwood and his thoughts of avenging his beloved wife were contradicting everything he said. He did not want to care yet every fibre of his being cared too much." "There was something else that Thranduil noticed in Celeborn's eyes: a combination of respect and admiration. 'You are strong, Thranduil. You are like one of the old Mirkwood trees, deeply rooted in the earth, that the centuries cannot wither. I always thought that, no matter what evil lies upon Arda, you will endure.' When a darkness spreads across Mirkwood, a mighty elven kingdom is robbed from its bliss. A once vibrant people hides behind the walls of their kingdom and the forest grew into a bleak and uneasy place. The other realms suspected Thranduil of being embittered by Saurons return, the growing darkening of his kingdom and the domination of Shelob's children beneath the canopy of his forest. Nothing could've been further from the truth. There was another reason why Thranduil grew bitter and isolated. A reason no one dared to speak about. And as people stopped talking about it, memories faded, got twisted and turned, until dozens of versions left people confused. They had forgotten Thranduils love for life, for his kingdom. The memories fell into extinction and people no longer remembered. Except for Thranduil. This is the story of Thranduil and the memories he hid in the depths of his soul. A pain that has wrenched his heart. A pain that can best be described as; 'agony.'
