"The details never added up" I whispered to myself. Frantically I pulled out my bag and pulled out the only meaningful item i had. I stroked the cover of the photo album, memorizing the feel of the diamonds around the borders and the smoothness of the cover.
I remembered my mothers advice of opening it when i was ready and took a deep breath, mentally preparing myself for the longly anticipated reveal of them. The family i never got to know or see.
As soon as my eyes landed on the first page. My heart began racing quickly and my hands felt sweaty. I blinked several times to try to adjust my vision, but felt myself hyperventilate as I dropped the photo album with a familiar face staring back at me on the picture.
