"Why is this so important to you?" "Just drop it please, Jamie." "No, I wanna know, okay? I wanna know why you want so desperately to fit in when you obviously don't, Delilah." "Because I don't wanna be forgotten. I don't wanna be forgotten, okay? I just can't be forgotten again and this is the solution. Happy now?" Great, so now I was crying. I, Delilah Clementime, the unbreakable cheerleader and golden girl of high school, was crying. And crying in front of the Jamie Dunn, at that. What led me to this point in my life? :) Delilah Clementine is high school's golden girl. Leading in with being the captain of the cheer squad, nailing the audition in drama club, having the perfect argument in debate class, and being at the end of her book for the library's book club. On the outside she seems to living the life that only happens in the movies or in the fantasies most girls only imagine. The only difference is that Delilah's slowing breaking on the inside since she's starting to step outside of the facade she's worked so hard to build since freshman year. Then, let's cue the opposite. James Dunn is the school's cliche. The wannabe football star who settled for point guard on the school's basketball team. Not necessarily the best start for senior year and giving up any chance at having a scholarship for the sport he's worked so desperately to achieve. Well, at least he still had this whole 'high school heartbreaker' reputation to count on. Delilah and James's worlds collide when they start to see each other in another light at one of the biggest events at Declan High School. The school's charity carnival that starts with rides and fun but ends in a food fight and an odd friendship. Or maybe a little more?
