17-year-old Lucy Lomantagne is starting her Senior year in Louisville, Mississippi. Her parents are recently divorced and now she lives with her father. She decided to go for her last year of high school for privacy against her nosy mother and her new beau. With her almost white-blonde hair and those sea-colored eyes, she was unique. Stared at most of her life she wanted something new and better so why not go the extra mile and move from sunny California to rainy Mississippi. The drastic change with the weather was nothing against the change with the people of the small town of six thousand give or take a couple hundred. Change is what she wanted to change is what she got. Making friends was never her strong suit but she had to try and now that she spotted Valise Melbourne she can't get him out of her head. *** Vasile Melbourne is tired of the same old thing in life. Living close to seven hundred years looking like a 17-year-old for eternity has its perks but having seen the same thing done over and over is hell. With his brothers and sisters, they started their 'senior' year of Louisville High School home of the wildcats. The first couple hundred years of eternity is cool. You learn many things in life but there is only so much you can do. Once you get to his age everything is old and nothing gives you joy except a mysterious white-haired woman with eyes that look deep into your soul if you had one. She was new and seemed to value solitude but there was just something that intrigued him to know everything about her. I wasn't the only one that seemed to gravitate around her. Many others of his kind wanted her but she was already claimed and will never be another's. What happens when a very old vampire claims you as his? What happens when that very same vampire tries to seduce her into submission that wasn't his to take? Her freedom was everything to her and she will never give that up without a fight. Can he claim her or will she fight to the death?

Margaret Allie Brandon. A 17-year-old girl stuck living with an abusive guardian since her mother died in a car crash. The same car crash that left Margaret alone in the world, scars running down the right side of her face, neck, and all the way down to her waist. A girl that can't even seem to remember a time she didn't have at least one bruise from her guardian. A girl that stays away from everyone that she can, never letting anyone close to her because if she begins to trust them she dreams of how they die. But then at the start of her senior year something changes, she meets a guy that makes her question everything she'd ever taught herself about trust, love, and even the future. She meets Jasper Cullen. Jasper Cullen. Over 140 years old as a vampire. Stuck forever at the age of 19. He had gone through most of his immortal life wondering what the point was. He had been a Major in the Southern Vampire Wars. Years that had left him scarred and pessimistic towards the world around him, until he had met a small vampire in the 1940s that gave him his first bit of hope. It was by Alice's hand that he met his immortal family, and he was thankful to have gained such a family. But even still, he longed for more at times but was doubtful he'd ever find it. Until that was the family started the cycle over again this time in Rochester, New York. It was already predicted to be the cloudiest year on record and was decided to be a good place to spend the year. It was there, sitting in his first class at the human high school that he met her. The girl with black curls and blue eyes, with blood that seemed to scream to him for help rather than seem like a meal. It was this girl which started to give him hope. This weird, mysterious, Margaret Allie Brandon.
