A tragedy in an alternate timeline has lead Sonic and Shadow to travel back in time at the expense of having to never met. Far from how the usual reality could've portrayed it, a reality where Dr. Eggman has stopped his evil schemes and the need for heroes is no longer necessary came into fruition. While the new beginning seemed utopian for humanity, a loophole from the former sacrifice has yet to reveal itself as the chaos they once harnessed continues to grow within themselves. --- "So Long Goodnight Book II" - new readers need not to read Book I in order to understand the story of "Defiance (SLG Book II)." --- All canon characters belong to SEGA. Rouge the Bat runs a jewlry shop but has so much free time as the owner that she joins G.U.N. for the enjoyable action she so desires. What of Sonic? He became a lead singer. Sonic and Shadow creating the Panic of Chaos. They jumped from city to city with their performances. Sonic. flirting with all his fans happily as they went. Shadow, ever so aggregated by the blue hedgehog leaves to stumble upon a pink hedgehog singing her heart out to one of their songs on a roof top of a restaurant. Amy Rose has caught the black and red hedgehog's intrest but will Sonic out foot him in the race for her attenion?

They have to live mundane lives during their time there. Some get jobs in order to blend in and earn their keep. Little do they know a certain egg themed villain is attempting to find this world to conquer as well as defeat the heros hiding in plain sight. Will they stop him without being captured by the villains of this world? Or will the villain rise to the top, rendering the heros useless? Eventual Sonadow, Rougeknux, Blazeamy, and Mephilver. 16+ there are adult themes and topics in this book not suitable for minors, nothing explicit, which is why I put 16+ rather than 18+. (Sonadow)- because I just don't like the idea of them together but just so you know I AM NOT! against characters falling in love with the same sex I just don't like the idea of Shadow with Sonic since they're Rivals and it kinda feels weird to me. 2. (Shadow x Rouge)- because I like more of the idea Rouge with Knuckles and Shadow doesn't really see Rouge as a friend more like a work partner instead so that's why 3. (Tails x Cosmo)- Yes I know that Cosmo was Tails first love interests but I never really cared about Cosmo so yea and besides I like Cream with Tails more than I do them 4. (Shadow x Maria)- because I've always saw them as a sister and brother more than a couple...5. (Mephiles x Silver)- again it just feels strange to me I just don't think they go to together in my opinion....

Following many traumatic events, Tails as an adult as well as his friends start to tread on thin ice. He has not only endured the most messed up things growing up, but he has also done some horrible things whether it was for good intentions or not. With this revelation in mind, things start to happen between the Freedom Fighters. Everyone is hurting each other and themselves, whether they wanted this or not. They could never have avoided this outcome. They are no longer fucking kids, and they know it.
