Centuries into the future, the Earth has been divided into two New Worlds. Terra: a picturesque version of the original. Inhabited only by the inordinately rich who throw their money at sinful pleasures. The Wasteland: the original Earth. Made toxic by warfare and pollution, 'Wasteland' is a kind name for the prison to killers, thieves, rapists, liars, and rebels. A young man from Terra, Ian Klyne grew up surround by everything he could ever dream of having. He longed to do good in the world, to be someone's hero. But growing up plagued by the pleasures of the wealthy cloud his idea of good...and mark him a rebel condemned to death. A young woman from The Wasteland, Kyndra fought for her home since she was young. She interrogated every prisoner, broke the innocent free, all to search for answers about her family...about who she is...about what she can do. But those answers come at a price, one that even she can't pay. Raised in opposite worlds, the pair were never meant to meet. Until lost memories and a wrongful imprisonment bring a spark to a hopeless rebellion. Now, he will learn what being a hero really means, and what he must sacrifice to be good. While she will learn the truth; and carry the pain and responsibility that come along with it. Together, they can fight. Together, Earth has a chance.

The conclusion of The Runner series. ================================== Half a year has passed since the fall of Babel. In that time, tales of the Runner have drifted from truth into legend. There are stories of a thief who toppled an empire, whispers about a hero who sacrificed everything to free us from the iron grip of a madwoman. They say that the Runner is broken. They say that she is fearless. They say that no enemy stands a chance against her unstoppable army of warriors. They say that she fights because her veins run red with rebellion, but I know better. She fights because she has nothing left to lose.
