Katie Prentice, psychic detective for the Leasdale Police Department, marries Lieutenant Griffin McCallister. Her father crashes the wedding and tells her that her sister is dying, and Griff and Katie change their honeymoon plans to return to Detroit to see her sister one last time. While there, Katie's family attempts one last time to "cure" her from her "hallucinations", and the Detroit Police Department finds out that Katie can talk to murder victims. As they ask her to consult on thirty cold cases and Katie is haunted by all those ghosts, Griff realizes that their honeymoon has turned into a hauntymoon. Katie struggles with providing so many consultations in such a short amount of time, and Griff struggles to protect Katie from her family, from the ghosts, and from herself.

As her last year of high school comes around, Shelby hears rumors spread that a new boy has come to town and goes to their school. Shelby is great at making new friends, so she plans on meeting the new boy at a coffee shop. She waits until a boy walks up to her, announcing he is the new kid. Shelby is mesmerized at the cute boy, and she somehow makes through the day with a new friend. Later on, they start to get more and more friendly, until prom rolls around. Mallory finds herself brokenhearted when she loses the love of her life in a tragic accident. She's left to pick up the pieces of her life with the help of her best friend, Kendall. Her job as a neonatal nurse helps to keep her mind off of her broken heart when something unexpected happens; she comes face to face with Dr. Samuel Daniels. Will she find love again, or will her grief blind her from her second chance at love and happiness? *** "Kendall is under the illusion that you're in love with me. Can you believe that? I just buried my fiancé seven months ago. She told me not to be blinded by my grief, not to see that you love me," I sigh. I notice Sam lower his head. "I'm guessing that must have pissed you off." "It did! I don't want her to ruin the friendship that we have. I like how we are. You throw the love word in there, and it freaks me out." I fight back my tears. Sam raises his head to look at me. "Listen, Mallory. I would never do anything to jeopardize what we have. Please don't let other people's observations of our relationship mess that up, okay?" *** 1st Place in The Candy Cane Awards 🥇 2nd Place in the 2020 Universal Awards 🥈 2nd Place in the Books and Beyond Awards 🥈
