She must be a raven like them. She does well as a raven. So convincing of a raven... But when the sparrow leaves the flock, what use is it to be a raven?

Secrets like her great ancestor. Her grandmother Onlaya's spirit resides in her. She is also being tracked the Great Tiger Spirits, Machungwa (orange) and Dhahabu (golden). These were Onlaya's familiars and they are coming to merge with her spirit. Denai would always complain about hearing a voice in her head. Her mother told her it was her conscience but it was in fact Onlaya. Sometimes these bouts cause her to become irritable. Denai has to train to make her body strong enough to hold the powers of Onlaya, Machungwa, and Dhahabu. By being at UA she strengthen her body, her mind, and her soul as well as fall in love.
