Meet Scarlett Striker, a bold and quirky journalist for the Seattle Times. She's fun, confident, sassy, and just the right amount of weird. Scarlett is determined to rise to the top, no matter what it takes. When her boss offers a golden opportunity to be among the best, Scarlett knows she needs to find a story that will make her career. She's willing to say and do just about anything to get there. But from the moment James Wilson enters the picture, her life takes a dramatic turn-and nothing will ever be the same. Scarlett's POV: "Are you always this infuriating?" he asks, clearly annoyed. I shoot him a glare, my temper flaring. "Depends on who's pissing me off," I snap back, noticing the way his fists clench. Great, now I've gone and poked the bear. "All good. I forgive you," I add quickly, not wanting to push him too far. He scoffs and turns away, unimpressed. God, what an asshole. I know I'm testing him, but I can't help it-I've always been a hothead, especially when someone tries to control me. ----- Meet Elizabeth Casana, a highly regarded executive assistant in New York City. She's smart, a bit of a nerd, and an obsessive cleaner, but she's also confident and never afraid to speak her mind. When she moves to Seattle with Scarlett, she lands a job as Chris Bryant's executive assistant. He's charming, fun, and carefree-but she absolutely cannot fall for him. Little does she know, falling for her boss will be the least of her worries as her past resurfaces and new dangers emerge. Elizabeth's POV: I roll my eyes, but I'm smiling too. "You're such a charmer, Chris. But I'm onto you." "You say that like it's a bad thing." "Not bad," I admit, my hand resting comfortably on his leg. "Just...dangerous." ----- This story gives you two perspectives, alternating each chapter between Scarlett and Elizabeth. Expect a rollercoaster of drama, love, and comedy. P.S. It will get spicy-MATURE CONTENT ahead!

In an effort to strengthen the weakening mafia empire, the Hernandez and Lopez decide to unite their families against the growing threat of prison through an advantageous marriage. A union between them meant access to more resources, which strengthened them further. A solid plan, one finalized with a meeting . . . but one with a slight thorn. The last thing Juan Lopez wants to do was part with his bachelor life. Drinking, dancing, and women are the only components of his life that he cares about, and he doesn't want to be shackled to a wife at the age of twenty three. Spoiled and lazy, he'd never worked a day in his life, and he certainly had no plans to start now. Why should he, when he had his father's money to inherit? There was hardly a point in working when he had access to that kind of wealth. Rest assured, he'd been making full use of his resources, and he did not want to stop now. Or ever. Valeria Hernandez, on the other hand, has no qualms with the marriage. Not that she's looking forward to it anymore than Juan, but it may grant her freedom of the sort which she has never experienced before. Her mother, a cold, cruel vulture, has been obsessed with her daughter's looks, behaviour, and basically every single aspect of her life ever since Valeria was born. Her only reason? She must make an acceptable bride. Valeria had learned early on that her mother would sink to any level, do anything and stop at nothing to get her daughter under her control. Perhaps now that she was finally married, it might grant her freedom. And, as they soon found, they made a pretty good team. Working together to quell the looming threat that was the new chief of police (and achieving the goal of this marriage in the process - along with much more), the late nights, early mornings, and seemingly endless planning seemed to bring to light who they truly were. This marriage could work out. But would it work out in the way they thought it would?

Honestly I love writing randomly it's so funny, till I get writers block 🙄 but like it's fun. These characters are so cool to me. Just realized I wrote a slow burn... I may have gotten carried away this time...it's long and corny🪿also some places that are mentioned will be tweaked :D also idk if I wrote the art of dancing right :(
