"You'll never be normal, Lilia. You can't say you want a normal life when you're not normal."

"True," I sighed. "but I want to be as normal as I can be. Even with this curse."

****
It's 2320. The world is full of elementals, sorcerers, cyborgs, and humans, who all supposedly live together in peace. Hierarchy in that order. At the top were elementals and at the bottom were humans with sorcerers and cyborgs in-between.

Lilia Rose Jenkins was the youngest elemental but the most powerful in the town of Novis. At only 22 years of age, she was born with the ability of all the elements. Air, fire, earth, and water. The most powerful before her only had fire and water.

Lilia wanted nothing more than to get away from the other elementals. To just live a normal life among the humans at the bottom of the hierarchy pyramid. To only use her powers to help humans if needed.

But when darkness falls one night, it never seems to end. It causes everyone to fight with everyone else and no one knows why or how to stop it.

Does Lilia finally team up with the only sane elementals left, or does she hide in the shadows that seem to have fallen over Novis?

Kaelen never speaks about the night his life split in two. He doesn't need to. The way he studies flames - not afraid, not drawn, just... measuring - tells anyone paying attention that something was taken from him long before he arrived at Cross Hexed. He's spent years preparing for this place. Training in secret. Learning what the Mystians expect, what the dragons watch for, and how to survive between them without belonging to either side. Cross Hexed is a risk, a gamble, a blade he intends to sharpen himself on. If he plays it right, it will put him closer to the answers he's been chasing since childhood. He thinks he's ready for all of it. He isn't ready for Lorcan. She hits him like a blade drawn too fast - fierce, beautiful, and already looking at him like she knows exactly what he is. Her sister's disappearance carved something hard into her, something Damon recognizes even if he won't admit it. They're enemies by nature, rivals by circumstance, and the academy seems determined to throw them into the same fire. They clash immediately. Not loudly. Not dramatically. Just two people who refuse to yield an inch. But Cross Hexed has a way of binding fates tighter than either of them want. Missions. Trials. Nights where survival depends on trusting the last person you should. Kaelen came here with a plan. Lorcan was never part of it. And yet, somehow, she becomes the one variable he can't calculate - the one person who makes him hesitate, makes him think, makes him feel the heat he's spent years burying. Not romance. Not yet. Just a spark in the wrong place, at the wrong time, between two people who should never have touched.

TO TRUST... IT WOULDN'T HURT, RIGHT? "Your last name." "I don't have one." *** Honour. Strength. Respect. Royal Protectors was the Royal of Sierra's pride. Acelin turned himself into the Protectors Academy. Neither for the honour nor the respect. But for the killer of his mother. He then found himself to befriend with a hooded figure, who happened to be his roommate at the academy. For they both were the exceptions in the first place.
