Karina was born and raised in the south pole with her parents but after her father and mother are captured and killed by the fire nation, she becomes the adopted younger sister of Sokka and Katara. 

She has both the bending of her parents. Fire from her father and water from her mother. Karina hides her ability and pretends to be a non bender for the sake of it. But when she and her siblings find an airbender who also turns out to be the avatar, Karina might just find out that her past holds more than she knew.
