Alexa Marsoleil may be five years old on the outside, but on the inside, she is the old man in the cave that you think of when you hear the word "wisdom". Alexa is a prodigy. Her family doesn't know this, and when they notice, they don't fully understand exactly how astonishing she is. Then one day Alexa's baby brother, Jesse, is hit in the face with a soccer ball—hit so severely he winds up in the emergency room—and something strange happens: he loses the ability to see colors. Alexa has an idea to help raise money for a surgery that will one day let Jesse see a rainbow again, and now all she needs is her mother's approval. Now, if only that was as simple as it sounds.
