---

There was love, there was heartbreak, loss and pain, joy and escapism.

He carried the past on his back like a hiker; it strengthened him, it became him. It kept him alive.

---

As Elliot, disheartened and afraid, a boy with a tendency to fall in love with all the wrong people, begins to swim in the depths of incoming adulthood, college, and expectations, the world continues to revolve and shift around him, sometimes unrelenting, other times. . . suspiciously pleasant. His acceptance letter into the art institute of his dreams was the first sign toward a better life, and he welcomes it. It's competitive, full of life, complete with people who, like him, are unique, and hesitantly, Elliot allows himself to relax and be himself. His hopeless romanticism plagues him like a sickness, especially when he finds himself attracted to his partner in Character Animation, the somehow both soft-spoken and effervescent James.

Convinced this is yet another crush leading toward heartbreak, Elliot ignores it and tries to move on. But James is different. This guy, he's something else. James, to Elliot's surprise, will be the conveyor of what he's always desired but constantly avoided-- love. James is determined to show Elliot that the world is not as black and white as he believes, that a life of peace isn't impossible. But this task is easier said than done, and through Elliot, James begins to realize that there are questions in his own life he's yet to ask, let alone answer, and that maybe it's himself who needs enlightenment.

Lyrical and moving, Thank You, Elliot is a story sewn by experiences of heartbreak, loss, and decision. Sifting through the values that make an individual-- family, friends, religion and desire, it's a story that illustrates the becoming of two young men in an attempt to love each other in a contradicting, confusing world.
