Chasing Tide (A Merman's Tale And The Human Who Desired Him)
One of the most painful things on earth is to lose a loved one. Whether in death or heartbreak. It's a pain different from all others. You feel every burn, every ache, your senses awaken, and greedily await a memory to sip in and then wreck your entire being. She took everything. His Light. His Heart. His Soul. It had no end. For years it went on like it would never end. But, it did. Just in passing, a normal day, a day like every other, but it was the day, his heart danced truly and his chest tighten as if a fierce wind had passed by, blending with his soul, leaving a suffocating feeling in his chest, a choking sensation in his throat, there was a pressure making it hard to breathe. ******* "My heart has heated for the human and my blood has flown for him. Moonlight Waves
I was still naive then, I had no idea how that childhood love for each other would grow into something so strong, something...that...burns and aches. As if you're being pulled under by the waves and the depths press against your chest, pushing out the air from your lungs. It's like drowning and the more you fall in love the more you're pained by the thought of losing him; and so the sea pulls you deeper and deeper into the blackest depths. It hurts the farther and farther you're pulled into the water, but the same thing that may be killing you is also the same thing keeping you alive- so you let it drag you under. It's not what Mother described love to be- it's not what anybody described love to be-it's not a pleasant feeling that fills your belly with butterflies. No, it's the weight of the sea crushing against your lungs and tossing you back and forth beneath it's waves. It's the calm before the storm and the storm in itself. And it hurts, but you let it hurt you. Because without it you know you wouldn't be the same, and you know that for the pain of love to cease, would mean the love itself would cease. And you can't live without this love. The mere thought seems impossible. So you welcome the hurt, you embrace it and it's not until he is safe again does the pain subside. She's a lost soul, searching for Froot Loops in a world of Cheerios. Emotions. Inflicted by words, Creating signals to connect those emotions. A pang in your heart, the dull ache of love, a tedious, meaningless thing to some. The entire thing to others. Confusing, at the least. All consuming, at the most. We bundle it inside, Hide it in boxes, In the deepest crevices of our persona, Then suddenly, it burst free, tumbling into the atmosphere, filling every hour, every moment. Words convey it. Words share it. Through words, our emotions are liberated. Disclaimer: I wrote this throughout the course of a year. It had its ups and it's down in emotion. It ends on a happy note, I think. It has some overdramatic things in which my past self annoys me sometimes. But it also has some good pieces of thought. The world sucks.
