Alexander Hamilton is a work driven person, thriving for success. He is willing to do as much as needed to reach what he wants, including breaking hearts and risking relationships. He lacks sympathy and is more self centered, especially after his past, which he ignores.

John Laurens is a very sweet and caring person. He cares for others and lacking the care for himself. Behind the mask of happiness and joy is a suffering person who needs help but is silenced, only one other person knows about what goes on at home, others barely knowing the surface of it all. He suffers with his own mind and thoughts.

After Alexander moves to New York for college, he makes mistakes and meets new people.
