A young earthbender man comes to terms with the fact that a desert spirit has been living within him for his whole life, and then he must try to seek out his path of fate. When he is saved by a banished prince, he owes him his life - and Sabaku will do anything to help repay the debt he now has with Prince Zuko. Join Sabaku as he walks down the road of destiny and discovers just how powerful his inner sand spirit can help him become - as well as the little flame that he was fated to rekindle.

Kiyan never expected to be the Avatar. And now that she is, she's finding she never even wanted to be. She's used to her old life as a simple waterbender, with no great spiritual burdens or destinies or whatever nonsense this Avatar business has suddenly forced on her. Now, she's constantly on the run from the crazy lunatics who murdered the last two Avatars, and who've made it their mission to end the Cycle entirely. In an attempt to finally get her out of their reach, her protectors decide that a time machine is the way to go, and send her back to 130AG, to Republic City to seek mentoring from Avatar Aang himself. There's just one tiny problem. She's thirty years off target. Kiyan decides to wait out the end of the Hundred Years War in a little Earth Kingdom village with the family who's been kind enough to take her in. After all, she's safe there, and she never asked for this whole Avatar deal anyway. Unfortunately, fate has other plans, and her masterful strategy for avoiding danger is thrown into chaos with the arrival of a familiar scarred swordsman. There is an old folklore about the Children of the Forest. They were mortal spirits who were the First Benders with the ability to travel freely to the spirit world and to the human realm. Each with their own element of air, water, earth and fire. They were one with their elemental animals and travelled the spirit and human realm freely. Fire Lord Azulon was one of the very few humans aware that this folklore was more than a mere legend, although slightly altered, but factual. He sought out dragons and in one of his searches he found a Child of the Forest with a Fire Element by sheer unfortunate luck and after defeating her, he imprisoned her. (Y/N) was seen as the key object of victory within the Fire Nation and a driving force of power to their legacy and supremacy but to Zuko she was not a weapon of mass destruction or a spirit creature; she was so much more. As the Sozins Comet approaches and the Avatar Aang prepares to face Firelord Ozai with the help of his friends, it's clear that Zuko and (Y/N)'s paths are more far apart than they know.
