After nearly a century of unsanctioned battles and brutality between both rogue clans and noble houses through ought the Five Realms, peace is made with the ascension of a new Monarch to govern beside a noble representing each realm. One for Mons, Amnis, Pardus, Ursus, and even the secluded Lupin.

Just as this time of peace is brought about, an esteemed prophet has a vision of the future to come, and a prediction listing an early winter and the fall of the Monarch is discovered within an ancient binding.

Within the binding there is a list of five first-borns of the noble houses of each realm. But there's a catch- the prophecy claims that there is a sixth child... Even though there is no sixth realm.

The known five young lords and ladies with extraordinary abilities are gifted with a companion that harbors the other half of their soul- their 'spirits'.

However, the prophecy did not just foretell of their abilities- It stated that one of the children would die by the hand of the new peace-bringing Monarch before the spring of their 16th year.

For this, the children's abilities are hidden by their parents from the rest of the world for fear that the Monarch would slay them.

But fate, when accompanied by magic, has its own way of charting destiny.

Especially for two of the six chosen ones...

One will discover the lies that are his existence,

And one will die before the age of 17.
