One side turned to the light, and used their gifts cautiously; while the other embraced the dark, and death always followed. Present Day... After moving into a haunted house, gifted twins Max and Megan Blackwell hear of the legend and discover they've moved to a town that hate and fear them because of their name. You awaken as a vampire with no memory of your past life - what's your next move? Eleanor nearly kills, but is stopped by William Bloom, a centuries-old vampire who offers her shelter in an ancient Virginia manor. There, among the enigmatic Bloom coven-Pierre, the wise patriarch and his haunting wife; a boy whose turning defies explanation; and three identical sisters bound by a secret power-Eleanor begins to navigate her new world. But darker questions soon emerge. Could every great upheaval in human history-from the Salem Witch Trials to Tik Tok-have been shaped by an unseen vampiric elite? Is her turning connected to the sudden vanishings of covens across the globe? To illuminate her past, she must unravel the secrets of her present, or let darkness consume her completely. **************** "I don't think you want him," he said. "Not really." "You don't?" she whispered. "No," he replied, his breath warm against her ear. Then, almost imperceptibly, his lips brushed against her skin. "It's me you want."
