The Atrocity of Emotion

Kael is a regular sixteen year old boy except for the fact that he simply cannot emote. He can't afford to. Having been born with the nature of the Taps, whenever someone triggers an emotion in Kael, a portion of his life-force is converted into magic and channeled to the person. This proves dangerous for Kael as he finds that few can be be trusted. With power-hungry men out to get him and family relations fraught with tension, he struggles to hold his emotions in check and simply do what he must to survive.
