With the wars between the Iano city-states escalating, Chinook must find a way to keep her pack safe, from both the wars and an age old threat to the Valka species.
Chinook is a Valka, specifically, the Alpha of the Blueriver pack and one of the oldest Valka still alive. She was disfigured horribly when she was younger, and one of her optics is now Acid green, the colour of insanity. In any mechanical or bio-mechanical being, there is no naturally occurring green optics, the only time green optics occur is when one is exposed to a volatile substance called Acid.
One drop will slowly drive a person mad. The more Acid one is exposed to the faster one loses their sanity. Only Chinook has ever "survived" contact with Acid. Many outside of her pack are almost deathly afraid of her when she shows her true nature. Most of the time she keeps her scars and optic hidden with her Simage generator; a device which all Valka have that creates solid light holograms.

Long ago, there was a village of vikings on a small island known as Berk, which suffered weekly, sometimes even nightly raids from fire breathing dragons. However the chief's wife, Valka, believed peace was possible between the Vikings and Dragons but no one believed her. During a terrible raid, she was taken by a dragon that showed signs of kindness. However she wasn't the only one taken since she grabbed her infant, Hiccup Haddock the Third, to keep him away from a fire started by the dragon who was startled by her husband. Unfortunately she couldn't grab her other son, a toddler, in time and he was left behind with his father. Over the years, the boy grew up hating dragons and counted down the days until he could join the warriors in battle, defending his village and avenging his brother and mother. However his father always kept him inside the forge during raids in fear of losing the only family he had left. There, the boy became a bit of an inventor as well as a decent blacksmith. However all of that changed when one night, using one of his inventions, he shot down the most dangerous and mysterious dragon in the entire Archipelago. This is my first fanfic on A03, it's about the Netflix series RTTE (Race to the Edge), in the Universe of HTTYD (How to Train your Dragon). It is a Viggo Grimborn x Fem!Reader. An old friend of the riders pays a visit to the Edge, reigniting an old passion of adventure that burns through the complacency that watered down her fire. She grasps her new life and doesn't let go, finally feeling the freedom of fight and flight. For twelve years of his life, he was forced to live with Viggo who works with a group of Outcasts all of which serve a much greater power. Viggo hated the child and took him only to get revenge on Stoick the Vast. He abused the boy, beating him almost to death multiple times, marking him with what he called ownership. Now, he's eighteen years old whose desperate to live his life. With so many people after him, his father forces Hiccup to stay on Berk until he finds a man whom he refuses to talk about.
