Our senses are what we use to understand our world. From seeing our surroundings since we are born to hearing our loved ones talk, laugh, and scream insecurities into the void of existence. Smelling the plants and trees around us as we walk down a path etched into the grassy hills surrounding the buildings and streets that make up any town or city in the world. Tasting the food we put in our mouths, as well as our favorite drinks.
But there is one severely underrated sense that we all use on a daily basis, and that's our sense of touch. Touching our keyboards, our phones, pencils, books; our families, loved ones, and feeling each tiny twitch or movement they make. The rise and falls of their chest when they breathe, the gentle curves of their lips when you touch them, and the feeling of electricity flowing through your veins like you stuck a fork in a power outlet when they touch your skin.
We all need that kind of touch. The touch that makes your legs give out, or leaves you needing more of the delicacies they leave you just by caressing their arms or bodies. The touch of the person you love the most. For me, it was her. And with the feeling of touch from the person I loved the most, also came the pain of being away from them.
