"Have you forgotten? Are you so dumb you can't even realize a very obvious fact?"
"We have the numbers, we have no reason to fear them!"
"We have every reason to fear them, Pasarth! We may have the numbers, but those assassins are much more skilled and stronger than us. And besides, they have a very clever strategy of staying hidden."
"Which is?"
"Picking us off one by one. They're not cowards, they just don't fight needless battles but instead kill, in the cover of the night."
"Then we need to do the same - pick them off one by one like they do with us! Then we can get the big reward, and-"
"We can't kill them. I want the reward as much as you do, but they're unstoppable. Besides, they're never who you think they are."
"What do you mean?"
"..."

An unfortunate event has lead the assassin gang into the open, and a large group of bounty hunters is planning on taking them off. However, the assassins have brought more attention to the group than one would've liked, and it has grown significantly. The hunters have become the hunted, yet they still hide. Newly arisen criminal gangs take care of the bounty hunters, leaving themselves out in the open.

Xodim, however, is like no other assassin, for he possesses powers many wish they have. His main one? Shapeshifting into a black and white cat. And the last thing you remember, is his icy blue eyes right before he takes your life..

Book 1 of the Legends Never Die series. Legend. A program designed by five previous agencies, who had banded together to create an all powerful team of agents. This was a group of the worlds strongest, smartest, and loyal people. They were sought out by Legend's commanders, split into teams of five, and trained into powerful beings. Hackers, Assassins, Combat Soldiers. They were weapons of humans, used by Legend to protect their home, communities, and people. Various programs of Legend were spread all around the world, each trained and conditioned the same. And now? Most of them were terminated. Very few stayed at Legend, and became head of the programs. Now they oversee each and every asset. Those who left, started normal lives. Found love, had children. Got office jobs or moved to a beach for retirement. But no matter how hidden, they would never be safe, and some of those agents understood that. So as Legend began to dye out, the Chiefs started contacting all former Legend agents, and proposing a new idea. A new agency. A smarter, more powerful, more compassionate and loyal agency. One that would ensure the protection of each family. Knowing that no former Legend agent would be safe on their own, they agreed to the new program. All former Legend assets and their families would return to the agency, where they would live comfortable lives. Where they would be safe. The children of those former agents were raised into the new program. Assessed by members of their families and head of the agency. Once old enough to be evaluated on their skills, they were split into teams of five, and trained just like their parents. More powerful than their parents ever were, at even younger ages. Each of them became, a Legacy. Follow the story of Legacy's strongest group of young agents through character point of views, development, and conflict.

Born as an outsider, (Y/N) was born right on the southeastern border of the Empire in a large town. But with no family or friends, he grew up as homeless orphan, doing whatever to survive. This eventually lead to him fleeing his homeland and living a life in the wilderness with nothing but rags for clothes, a silver urn, and an Imperial Arms with enough power to cause an apocalypse all on its own. This lasted for a few years before he managed to stumble into the Empire's Capital, AKA the Imperial Capital. His first few months weren't much different his earliest days back in his homeland aside that the Empire was much larger and he was much older, larger, wiser and powerful. Without much of an option, (Y/N) quickly turned to a life of criminal activity, leeching off the more corrupt members of society. This would end up in a lot of deaths and the attention of something more than just one man, the Imperial Army. One fateful encounter with an Imperial Officer lead to his capture and being taken into custody. One conversation with the Empire's Minister later and he now served for the Imperial Army directly under the Minister as the "Right Hand Man". After a few months of service, (Y/N) quickly saw that not only the Army was corrupt, but the Empire as a whole. However, two things will complicate this process. Night Raid, a group of revolutionary assassins who serve the people and have the same ultimate goal as (Y/N). Esdeath, a general who hails from the northern frontier and is proclaimed as the Empire's Strongest. But (Y/N) didn't expect this to be an easy road. Nothing in his life had ever come easy. This is the story of heroes. And speaking of heroes, Karasu. Ahh, Karasu-the guy running this whole glorious shitshow of chaos like it's a goddamn parade. And yes, Karasu? By all accounts, he's a hero: (Villain rambles about his tragic-ass backstory.) "Fuck your sob story, and fuck your tragic journey." ...But like that kind of hero. His philosophy is mercilessly simple: prune the rot before it spreads. Slaughter, in his vocabulary, is a maintenance task. He aims to reduce the population of malignant assholes to a reasonable percentage. If you're asking for nuance-there isn't any. Power attracts carrion. Karasu knows this; that magnet pulls in every lickspittle and cosmic scavenger within shouting distance. His timetable is brutal: kill enough of them to make the world marginally less disgusting before some other ambitious corpse hunter puts him six feet under. He'd prefer to avoid that eventuality, but fate underestimates him. But right now? He is hunting warriors. And yes, theoretically, he could personally administer some genocidal type of vengeance himself. But reality check: Karasu is an anti-social, loose fucking cannon, and guess what? He's got zero fucks left to distribute. That's not a problem... until it is. And right now, it is. The world is literally going to hell at approximately the speed of light... think goon squads, motorcycle gangs, warlords, and doomsday cults-and Karasu's just standing there like, "Not today, you shit-for-brains motherfuckers." See, these psychos have been running Mortal Kombat-style death matches-solo, duo, or full group suicides, whatever makes your blood boil. Nobody sane signs up for it, but guess who's not sane? Right. Karasu's plan: sign up, show up, kill everyone, go home. Efficient. Sustainable. Very on brand. And right now, he needs to find people to join with him. Should be simple enough...ha. Targets logged. Chaos loading.
