                    Prologue

My life is a lie, the final embrace of death was not enough to hold me. At least that's what it said. It has always been it said, and it will always will be. It's  what brought me back. I  was "killed" in the war on the capitol, we lost. I live in district 14, a new island that was formed during the war as a military outpost.  But it's reaping day and the odds are never in my favor. My name is Saphire, and this is my story....

When I was young I joined the war, I was just fourteen. They taught me how to fight, to kill. But then the bomb went off,  it took my right forearm and my left shin with it. It was like my arm and legs had been dipped in acid.  All of the burning left scars up to my neck on me. That's  how the Capitol won. We were the last district left. They bombed our little island, and now the games are back....

A Maybank and A Cameron? It's almost like a modern Romeo and Juliet. It's forbidden for them to be together. Could be the end of the world. The stolen glances, the hidden feelings, the unspoken words, the secret meetings and the obvious hatred towards each other followed by constant conflicts and some hidden past that threatened them but there are always invisible strings tied and pulling them together no matter how hard the tides trying to pull and part them away from each other.
