The story nobody asked for, and nobody needed. A lone fox, dubbed "The Commander" has taken almost full control of a small island, population 15,293, and caused civil unrest and an apocalyptic-like lifestyle for anyone outside of "The Empire". Of course some weren't just going to let him do this, and those people formed "The Rebels" to directly counter The Commander and his soldiers. With superior technology, rivaling that of lite-science fiction, The Rebels aren't nearly as much of a threat as they should be, but that doesn't mean they'll lose. In the end it all comes down to the simple things in life, like family. Family will be the death of you, if you aren't the death of them.

When Evita starts asking questions Evelyn Sheer, the head of the city's Department of Energy, takes her captive and places her in a secret, underground research facility. Evelyn Sheer and the researchers are trying to create a genetic modification that enables humans to photosynthesize. Once in the facility, Evita is tagged as a test subject and loses all say over what happens to her body. She has to escape. By the time she comes up with a plan there is only one problem. Seventy-four years has been long enough. The way of the infamous Hunger Games has been altered. No longer is every Gamemaker out to devise the worst means of torture and death for every tribute. No longer are the people of Panem outwardly tolerant of President Snow's murderous actions. Under the facade of a normal group of Gamemakers, several rebellious citizens have begun an experiment which, if it succeeds, will make use of technology both to rescue the tributes before they are dead and then deposit the brainwashed children back in time. They have to try it. No one knows what horrors future Hunger Games may bring, and the desperate rebels are willing to try anything. Nevertheless, their ambitions change when they, without meaning to, find themselves in the Games together. They are both determined to win. But if they don't, what will happen to them? The brainwashed tributes who land in New York City know nothing of who they are or where they are from. They do not remember Panem, or the Games, or even their own names.
