"Uptown is a part of the Harlem borough." Jack started. "They hark headlines for upper Manhattan. Everyone knows Fred Dalton, the leader of Harlem; decent guy. There's rumors that he's secretly Uptown's leader too; under the name Mason."

"Wouldn't the other newsies find out?" Davey asked. "If he was 'Mason', he'd be revealing his own secret."

"That's the kicker," Jack chuckled. "No one's ever seen Mason."

{'Newsies' belongs to Disney, as it is a Disney musical.}
{Music and lyrics belong to Jack Feldman and Alan Menken.}
{The Uptown and Harlem Newsies are my own characters.}
{Some lyrics have changed due to my decision on how the story flows. For example, in 'Once and For All', Brooklyn, Harlem, and Uptown (and some of their newsies) have their own line where the Manhattan newsies usually would.}

It's been over a year since the strike has settled and the newsies haven't had any problems with Pulitzer since. But that's not to say that they didn't all have problems outside of work. Jack and Katherine were unhappy together. They didn't feel the love towards each other that they used to feel. Yet they were too scared to say something to one another. Crutchie wanted for his long-time crush to love him back, although he knew that would never happen. Still, one could dream. Davey and Les's father had been severely injured by an incident at work. He wasn't so lucky this time around and passed away due to blood loss. This drove their mother into a state of insanity, forcing Davey and Les to pack up their things and leave. They now live on the streets with their fellow newsies, struggling to support themselves just like every other newsie. Their lives were still pretty crappy and hopeless, but hey, they were still alive and that was what mattered. Then, a new kid shows up at the gates of The World and sends their lives into chaos once more.
