"If you're lucky, the virus kills you. If you're unlucky, you become one of them."

Lana's normal life is completely uprooted when the common Rabies virus mutates into a strain that dramatically impacts humans. While many died of its lethal force, some turned into the Fauxes, hardly human. As Lana and her family attempt to enter a survivors' colony, an attack by the Fauxes uproots her life even further, sending her on a dangerous journey where it becomes unclear just who the real enemy is.
