[ UPDATES ON TUESDAYS, GMT ] Gift giving crystals that power golden prosthesis and implants, long forgotten gods that speak through them, and porcelain children born from clockwork. In the 19th century, the city of London floats hundreds of feet above the ground, tethered to the floor below by thin ribbons of steel and iron; The untouchable gilded home of the royal family, their army, and their God machine. The city only referred to as The Lower lays beneath, firmly seated on the earth, caked in its dirt and the festering stench of revolt. This is home to the masses, including Fiore Ferro, the sickly son of a blacksmith who is the bearer of more secrets than he realised. Having lived the majority of his 20 years of life hidden away from the outside world, Fiore measures every day by how much freedom he finds within it - a glimpse of the sky, a chatter of voices or a gentle brush of wind on his cheek. When the secret his father had been working so hard to keep in the dark creeps in to the light, Fiore is thrown in to a hurricane of rebellion and betrayal, eventually he's left wondering if he wasn't better off living life in measured doses.

"I only have one request if you're going to keep me in suspense all day long." "What's that?" The movement of her lips drew his eyes down. "Let me kiss you again?" That voice, breathy and low, set Taly's heart racing. His lips twitched at the corners-he could hear it. Now that he could use his magic, he knew exactly the kind of effect he was having on her. But he didn't move. He waited. Her choice. She set the pace. Taking a shaky breath, she jerked her head. Yes. *** Magic marked her for suffering. Magic will save her. Magic will lead her home. On Tempris, time magic is outlawed, and suspected time mages are hunted. Humans are second-class citizens, shunned by the immortal fey that live on the island. They even have a name for their kind: Shardless. Taly is one of the lucky humans. Taken in by a fey noble and his family, she's lived a good life, surrounded by people she loves. But when an accidental brush with magic causes her to see things -- ghostly apparitions that give her small glimpses into the future -- it has deadly consequences. The Sanctorum has returned to the island, and if they find her, they'll kill her. And anyone that tries to protect her. This includes her best friend, Skye. He was the boy that saved her. The man she knew she could never have. And when he refuses to let her go, their actions might hold the power to reshape the world. An ancient evil is rising, and in order to protect those that she cares for, Taly will have to sacrifice everything. Including her heart.
