Mystery
The manor looms in the distance as the fog settles. The towering manor on the hilltop overlooked the village below, constantly watching them. I was invited to the famous Grey Manor, home of the respectable Grey family, a family of doctors and medical researchers. My beloved father, Edward Cromwell, died many years ago and I have yet to honour him except for this one chance; to meet his close friend Bishop Grey, Lord of Essen. Apparently I was not ths only one invited. Many other notable figures were too invited to stay at the manor. It has become apparent that this may be a way for Bishop to cope with the death of his way, Doreen, yet peculiar events starts to happen. First it began with the road kill, then the unusually particular rules of the manor, then the loud weepings and the cries late at night. There has been a local curse at the village. The ghost of the late Doreen Grey was haunting the village, abducting any villagers who saw her. They call it the Grey Curse, and none dares to speak ill of the Grey, fearful that they too might disappear forever. As the day went on it was all too convenient. The fellow guests and I decided to investigate the manor, and dark secrets begin to unravel.

When 21-year-old Emma Harrington inherits Alderwood Manor from a distant relative she never knew existed, she expects a quaint, if not crumbling, estate in the English countryside. What she doesn't expect is the dark, mysterious history buried within its walls. Amongst the dusty shelves and forgotten rooms, Emma discovers a collection of love letters from the 1800s-letters that tell the tragic story of a forbidden romance and a family secret long hidden. As she unravels the mystery of the manor's past, Emma finds herself drawn into a dangerous game of deception, where someone in the village knows more than they're letting on. And as she gets closer to the truth, she realizes that the shadows of Alderwood are not ready to let go of their secrets-or her. With the help of a handsome but secretive local historian, Emma must piece together the puzzle before it's too late. But as the past and present intertwine, she begins to question everything, including her own heart. Will Emma uncover the truth of Alderwood Manor? Or will its dark history consume her like it has so many before her?
