Vi is not a normal girl, nor is anything normal in her eyes. Her alarm clock is a monster, her sweater is a cage, and the zipper is the lock. Where the key is she does not know, so she never dares to slip it on. Her life revolves around her mental and emotional illnesses. The way her words slip without permission, the way she gets aggressive before she can stop herself, the way that everywhere she goes, she leaves a path of destruction behind. She slips from reality to dangerous daydreams in a heartbeat, and this is why she has no friends. None except for one: Peter. He tries to keep her sane, to keep her safe and to protect her from the monsters in her mind. But what he can't protect her from, is the monsters inside of herself. Because no matter how hard anyone tries -doctors, therapists, family- Vi will always be at war with herself, and now she's on the losing side.
