What if everything you were was determined by your eye color? In a last ditch effort to save mankind, 3 scientist created a new race of humans due to woman not being able to reproduce. But a mistake in their genetic code left them with beautiful dark colored wings. The humans now wiped out by war, it left the winged race, called Flyers, to take their place.
But the Flyers have now fallen into two fighting sides. The Shards, of the East, and the Rävens, of the West.
When a flyer turns 15 they go to the spirit woman, who weaves a spell to reveal their true colors. Their eyes change colors, and what they turn determines everything about you. A prophecy told to the late King Roger said one Flyer, with white wings and blue eyes could save their race, or die trying, leaving the species to be destroyed.
15 year old Heather was born with dark brown wings and eyes, but when she goes to the Spirit Woman, her eyes turn blue, instantly sentencing her to exile. But her wings changed color, something that has never happened. They turn white.
Phoenix, First Heiress of Aridor once had a bright future ahead of her. Growing up, she was always told: "You are destined to lead your clan." But Phoenix doesn't believe in destiny, and for good reason. When she and her sister were still just children, their parents were assassinated. Even at a young age they were prepared to follow in their parent's footsteps as clan leaders, but that would not happen. Just a few months after their parent's deaths, a rival clan raided their home. Now left with no family, their homes burned to the ground, and their people either killed or taken prisoner... Phoenix has fallen further than she could have ever imagined.
After eight long years of grief, a series of events inspire Phoenix to tackle a (borderline suicidal) undertaking. A boy from a clan she'd come to resent, a vision of a girl imprisoned in enemy territory... A prophecy, stating: "Too much has gone Unspoken in this world."
