When The Sea Calls by NoelleCasarano
24 parts Ongoing Mature
Thalia's life was on track until a diagnosis shattered her dreams. At 23, she was forced to leave her pursuit of medicine behind, her future clouded by the early onset of Parkinson's disease. But the struggle didn't end there. Her parents' bitter divorce-driven by her father's infidelities-fractured her family, and her mother's descent into alcoholism left Thalia battling not only her illness but a broken home. Grieving the loss of her brother, who was more than family-he was her anchor-Thalia moves back to her childhood town, hoping to leave the ghosts of the past behind. It's here that she crosses paths with Nikolas, her brother's best friend. Once a close companion, Nikolas was the one who shared countless sunsets with her by the beach, alongside her brother and their tight-knit group of friends. But time and heartache have changed them both. Nikolas, now working at a local coffee shop and playing in a band that keeps the nights alive, is determined to help Thalia move past the darkness of her grief. He wants to rekindle the friendship they once shared, to help her heal, but the history between them is complicated-especially after his past mistakes left her heartbroken. As the two struggle to reconnect, Thalia must confront not only her unresolved grief over her brother's death but the unspoken truths that still linger between her and Nikolas. Will she let herself open up to the one person who understands her deepest pain, or will the weight of the past keep them both trapped in an unspoken silence?
