Everyone knows of the iron in our blood, of the mercury and calcium in our bodies. Now, though, we have Exosis.

No one really knew where the disease came from or how it even started. Some say it started from rats, like the plague. Others think it was from birds or even livestock. Scientists have tried to claim that it was simply a gene in our bodies that mutated, and for a while, that's how it was treated. At least, that's how it was treated after the initial paranoia. For several months after it was discovered, people acted as though the end of the world was upon us. It's not like they could have done anything, though. By the time it was discovered, everyone had it.

5 years after it's discovery, Exosis... mutated? At first, no one noticed anything different, but then the cysts showed up. You see, by the time the cysts came, it was too late. Organ failure followed more quickly than anyone could have anticipated. Some people have yet to develop the cysts, but with rumors of the dead walking again beginning to spread, it seems survival isn't going to be... easy.
