This article discusses the issue of teaching literature in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0, which relies on the role of technology in the production, documentation, and consumption of literature. The points discussed are reviewed based on two concepts, namely (1) digitization and (2) connectivity. The discussion of aspects of literary teaching still rests on the scientific and teaching approaches based on the text genre. The benefits of teaching are assessed based on the challenges and opportunities provided by technology. This study concludes: (1) digitalization and connectivity lead to a transition, from physical learning to online, which has consequences on (2) migration from paper to digital text, (3) the basic principle of interpreting personal literature in line with constructivism theory which is also the way of Millennials build knowledge and meaning, and (4) so that this is in line with the scientific approach.
