One late night, at the peak of dawn, I wake up to the sound of glass shattering. The sound was distant but being the very light sleeper I am, I woke up almost immediately. I'm feeling tired, light headed, and now frustrated. I pull off the cotton covers of my bed with little to no energy and shuffle my feet towards my bedroom window. "What the hell?" I manage to blurt out loud, surrounded by clock ticks and the snores of my father. I rub my eyes quickly to make sure I'm seeing right. On the edge of the front lawn of my house, near the rose bushes, lies a body. The body seems to belong to a young teenager close to my age. A male. His face faced downwards on the yellow-green grass and his arms flared out on his sides. He lay so motionless and so still. I gulp and my breath shallows as the thought runs through my mind.

IT lets go of me, my head hits the ground again, no sound echos this time. IT's mouth movies, but my ears ring, so I can't hear IT. Everything is blurry and movies too much. I can't focus on anything. IT looks at me, IT's eyes are all gray. IT smirks and stands all of the way up, towering over me. I pull myself up and wobble away from IT on unsteady feet. I look back to see IT laughing, watching me walk away. I can't hear her terrible laughter, and I don't want... to... I fall over, feeling woozy. My head spins and I sway as I try to stand. I look back again, to see that the fog has covered my path, and I can only see a couple of inches away from my face. I blow out air and fall over. * * * * 13 year old Colten, takes a shortcut through the field next to his house on his way home. But why can't he reach his destination?
