When Ireland Devereaux's father dies under suspicious circumstances, she is left to run the family's inn in the desolate town of Solstice, a struggling community in the heart of the untamed west. Being a headstrong yet virtuous woman in this harsh territory is a difficult and treacherous life. Constantly battling to save her small claim for her future, she holds her ground even against the most shrewd of businessmen. But when a stranger and his men ride into town one stormy night, her whole world is turned upside down when she finds her life has been deeded along with the property to a vicious gang leader who knows of nothing else but violence and degradation. Forced into servitude, Ireland quickly learns of her owner's heart of darkness and his insatiable need to dominate and control every aspect of what he possesses, including her life. Disrespect and rebellion are met with harsh discipline and Ireland is forced into a battle of wills that may very well consume her. Could there be a smoldering core at the center of her master's stone cold heart? And can she reach it before her fiery spirit is extinguished forever? This story is based on The Salvation character of Henry Delarue

It's also written in country/western lingo so some things won't seem grammatically correct. Also, this book is based on the Wild West time period (1865-1895). Some of the places that will be mentioned in this book are fictional places I have come up with, others are (or were) real but may look different than they actually looked in history.
