In a futuristic society, children are trained from a young age to be soldiers to fight and maintain structure in the world order. The world is in constant war between the government and the rebellion. Celest, a girl advanced in her training, is about to leave the safety of the compound and find out what the world truly is. Before she and Jay, her partner, are allowed to graduate and leave, they must undergo a series of tests that are mentally, emotionally, and physically straining and painful. Those tests end up holding a key for all of their choices from that point on.
Warning: this book will have some graphic and highly hinted violence and torture along with other topics and ideas that may be disturbing to some audiences as this book takes place in a dystopian future that is full of war and hate.
