Abel has learned he is the Lightbearer, but he does not yet know what that means. He still hasn't figured out why the staff and escorts went missing. He does not know who or what the Dark is, or how he is supposed to stop it. All he knows is that he needs to find Lewin and Hazel, his escorts, and put a stop to whatever plan Overseer Iapetus has enacted. Together with his new friend Ria and an... unexpected ally, (not to mention a little handy-dandy help from Wallace!) Abel hopes to beat back the Dark and bring everyone home safe.
But the Dark has other plans. Plans not even the Overseer is privy to.
