It has been almost 70 years since the USA was divided into the American Federation and the American Regions. The relationships between the two ideologically very different countries had been relatively peaceful until 2094 when the Federation announced a plan to build a wall that would isolate it from the rest of the continent.

In the spring of 2101, Oli Gardener is completing the tenth grade of Roberts Conservatory. Her mother, the High Commander of Regions Armed Forces, is on the annual inspection of the Wall Zone when Federation troops drive out of the Wall gates. The days of brilliant fun and epic pranks are over.
