Zara Kingsley is a rebel. Three years after the arrest of her older brother Hayden, Zara becomes closed off to many people including her parents and frequently defies anyone who underestimates her. In doing so, she gains the ability to mind-read; a subtle gift that she tends to use to her advantage and doesn't think much of it.

Approaching her final year as a senior at St. Carmine Academy, Zara focuses all of her attention on graduating and moving far away from her family and life in New York City but one night at a gala in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Zara gets pushed to the edge and unleashes a hidden power, nearly collapsing the entire museum.

Confused and frightened, Zara's parents enroll her into the Avalon University of MAGIX, a school of wizardry and witchcraft where she excels in her studies towards witchcraft but as Zara gets better at mastering her powers and skills; secrets, lies, and revelations are all put on the line as she discovers the wonders of magic and herself.

"Do you know what the most dangerous thing in this world is?" A dozen answers flashed through my mind, greed, money, power, dark magic. But I stayed silent, staring at the man in front of me. A man I once trusted. But now? Now that I knew the truth he'd kept hidden, that lie shattered everything. I didn't know who he was anymore. He lifted his head, eyes meeting mine when he realised I wasn't going to answer. "Love." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Maya's biggest worry used to be life after Hogwarts. Until a mysterious spell sends her eighty years into the past. Now stranded in a time ruled by fear and shadow, she's told the only way back is to defeat the dark wizard Grindelwald himself. With no clear path forward, cryptic riddles begin to appear, guiding her toward something. And then the visions start, of a woman who warns her of a different truth: Maya can't defeat Grindelwald. To return home, she must find the daughter of a forgotten family. Ishara has waited weeks for a letter that never came. Her brother is missing, and no one seems to care. Desperate and determined, she sets sail for England, chasing answers only she believes are worth finding. But strange things begin to happen, dreams she can't explain, feelings she can't ignore. And something inside her whispers of magic... even though magic doesn't exist. Right? As their stories unfold across time, Maya and Ishara are drawn toward a secret buried deep in history, one that could reshape everything they thought they knew about their world... and themselves.

She felt his surprise. She felt his light extinguish as he died. Then there was nothing. Nothing. Her head was swimming like it was underwater. She couldn't move. She couldn't move. Her vision blurred, a man was speaking but she couldn't hear his words. She felt the sword in her chest, but it wasn't there. He killed him. He killed him. Breathe. Did she stop? Breathe. The man, she could hear him speaking. What was he saying? Breathe. She inhaled a deep breath. And another. Then another. Things started to clear. "Breathe. That's right," the warrior coaxed. She started to take another settling breath, and his face came more into focus. The first thing she noticed was his piercing green eyes. She had never seen eyes quite like that before. She stared into them, mesmerized. He mimicked a breath and she took it with him. She was coming back. "I will not hurt you," the man kneeling before her promised. Anna knew better than to believe him. What was it he had said? Oh. "You...you said...you said 'no witnesses'." She was shaking violently. She took another deep breath. "Ah, " he uttered in acknowledgment. "You are not a witness, you are the treasure
