Tarron was alone. She was abandoned by the only person who ever took care of her, and in the world of the Autonomy that's a dangerous thing. If you don't have anyone to take care of you, you're alone. And if you're alone, you're dead.

Tarron survived by only one thing: her wits. She stole, she lied, and she betrayed. But she couldn't let them know it was her. So she used a codename: Alias. That's what the world knows her by. Alias, criminal mastermind. She's never has a problem.

Until Joel comes along.

Joel is a criminal from the sector adjacent to Tarron's, and he sees the alert of Alias' newest theft. He and his brother go to find Alias.

When a mistake leaves Joel on his own and on the run, he hurts himself and imagines that this is the end. Tarron, unaware of who he is, saves his life. Joel, as in the dark as Tarron, stays with her until his injury can be healed. What happens when they stick together? Because everyone knows that when you have someone to take care of you, you aren't alone anymore.
