The Eye of the Knife

Demons. Horrible creatures. That's one of the reasons I quit my day job and became a self employed demon killer. Most called me a hunter, but I go with the name killer for a reason.

Most, who know me from my old Hunter's Community, call my by the name my mother gave me at birth, Monica Reynolds. But I go by Max. Just Max, since last names seem pointless to me. I am a one person kind of gal. I hate being bossed around to do things, or having people follow me around. I like being on my own.

So when someone like Christian walks in my life and refuses to leave my side, you can see why I got a little testy. I mean he turned everything that I stood for around, and would never leave me alone. Worst of it all, is that he found out what I do for a living, and now wants me to train him to be one too. But its not that easy, and will come at a price.

But what happens when I admit that I have feelings for the man that came out of nowhere? I have a bad feeling that nothing good will come out of liking another human being... possibly loving that said other human.
