In Madeline's world, everybody is divided into eight mage classes; Lightning, Thunder, Water, Fire, Earth, Air, Color and Shadow. Of course, there are the Natives to the planet Adrailia, but they don't contain any magical properties as far as anybody knows. Madeline's school, commonly known as The Academy, is buzzing with excitement the day a new Color, Jason, arrives. He's not exactly peculiar, except for the fact that he was raised by Natives and his powers are "off the charts." It's now Madeline's job to find out if these two oddities are connected, and she must prove it before the school year ends, or she and her group of friends will all be subject to a deadly fate.
