In the land of Asbon, where peace only exists in broken shards, the legend of a castle has been handed down for generations.
Once upon a time, there was a great castle. Everything around it was perfect, and everything inside was beautiful. However, beauty doesn't last. The castle was broken, as was the land.
In its place stood the shell of a life. Only a king with no sight and a knight with no stride remained; they guarded the castle of an empty land.
Once upon a legend, a girl set out with fire in her eyes. She traveled across lands of rich and ruin, of sea and river. She met those who helped and those who hurt.
And, in the end, she found the legend.
In the end, she found a lie.

Beauty and the Demon - Septiplier
Once upon a time, as most stories begin with, in the hidden heart of Ireland, there was a very handsome prince named Sean. He was rich beyond compare, he taxed village people to fill his castle with the most beautiful objects. All though Sean had everything he needed and wanted, he was selfish, greedy, and unkind. One night, an old beggar woman came to his castle, seeking shelter from the bitter storm. She had nothing but a single rose she offered him. From her old and ugly appearance, Sean turned the woman away. The woman warned Sean not be deceived by haggard appearances...for beauty is found within. When he dismissed the woman again, the woman's appearance changed only to reveal a beautiful enchantress. Sean begged for forgiveness but it was to late, for the enchantress has only seen selfishness in Sean's heart. As punishment, she turned him into a hideous demon and placed a spell on the castle and all who lived there. As days lead into years, Sean and his servants were forgotten by the world for the enchantress erased all memory of them. And the rose the enchantress gave Sean was truly a enchanted rose. If he could learn to love another, (a male or female), and earn their love in return before the last petal falls, the curse will be broken. If not, Sean will remain a demon, for all time. The prince had fell into disrepair, for who could learn...to love a demon?Complete
Beauty Is Found Within
The Enchantress spoke, "Until you learn to love another and earn their love in return, only then will the spell upon you be broken. If you cannot, you will remain a beast for all eternity. Remember this, only love can thaw a frozen heart." Repulsed by his haggard appearance he fled from the sight of the enchantress and back to the castle. Where he confined himself to ruling from the shadows, just like his father. That was the year where winter did not leave. The winds grew stronger, bringing more and more bitter cold air with them. The kingdom grew weak. There was little food and the people were starting to lose hope. Then, one day a letter arrived at every home in the kingdom: there was to be a ball held at the palace. Everyone was invited, and everyone went. The time spent in the palace was grand. That was until one of the guests went missing. A young woman was escorted from the ballroom and was never seen again. Spring returned for a short time, and then winter crashed back down upon the land. And another ball was held. People were skeptical and did not want to attend, but they had no choice. Yet another guest went missing, another woman. The parties continued annually. Everyone in the kingdom was forced to go and every year, another person was escorted away. Most years it was a woman, one year it was a man. It has been six years since the beginning and winter is coming, after yet another short spring. It is time for another masquerade.
