Japan was not discovered by Europeans until 1543, when the Portuguese started to make contacts with Japan. The Japanese wrote on items such as scrolls, as books came to the picture in around the 8th century. But Sakura Honda found something called a 'book' before this time period, which was Ancient Japan. However, she lost it, only to have it reappear in front of her centuries later. With fresh memories and a puzzled mind, Sakura pays a visit to Rose Kirkland, whom she believes can find the answer to her problem. Amelia somehow tags along, wanting to visit her former sister. However, this book is a curse and a blessing. It will tear representations apart, bring them together and kill them. Will the representations on both sides realize this before it's too late? --- IMPORTANT NOTE: Nyotalia characters do not necessarily have the exact same personality as their gender counterpart. A good example would be Alice, she's quite the badass character as Hima-sensei describes her. If they had the exact same personality, they would be genderbends. I might break this rule, because some of the personalities have not been officially released yet. But some Nyotalia personalities are similar to their counterparts, so I don't think it will be a big issue.

In a quiet corner of the past, Mameko finds herself in the care of João, after escaping a life of cruel slavery. He is a kind-hearted sailor whose life at sea has taught him the depths of solitude and the strength of tenderness. Bearing the invisible marks of her own harsh history, Mameko struggles to find her footing in the unfamiliar calm of freedom João offers. Together, they navigate the delicate waters of healing and companionship, seeking solace in each other from the storms they've weathered. As they learn the rhythms of trust and the language of care, can they forge a future that honors their pasts but is no longer anchored to them? (Originally posted on ao3, decided to post it here too.) (Also Author Note: Hi!! Just as a note, this work does take place in the late 1500s, and while I do my absolute best to preserve historical accuracy, I do take artistic liberties at times. Also, as a general warning, this first chapter is a bit rough, as it gives context into her capture and time in slavery. João probably won't show up until Chapter 3 or 4 so just stick with me here. Also I don't speak Portuguese so I apologize for any errors there.)
