Evelyn Saploat has watched her older sister and mother complete countlessly at their annual Saploat Family Reunion against a web of cousins, aunts and uncles, plus a few cranky grandparents. Now, she finally gets a chance. But this year, the Saploat's competition craft is crochet. Throughout all her years at working at the family business, Evelyn has never bothered to learn any string related crafts; it was all too tangled for her. Now, trapped in her own string of lies and too embarrassed to tell her family, she pretends to know all there is to know. Then, Evelyn is struck with luck. She meets Duncan Hodlings, a quirky new customer. It turns out that Duncan has spent most of his life crocheting, knitting, embroidering, stitching, and performing every other string art out there. He agrees to teach Evelyn in time for her reunion, but Evelyn needs A LOT of help.

Maybe, just maybe, from the grace of the string gods and blessings of the loop saints, Evelyn can possibly crochet.

In a tale woven with tragedy and turmoil, Murtasim's moment of rage during Mariyam's rukhsati leads to a devastating act that forever alters the lives of both him and Meerab. Overcome by guilt and desperation, Murtasim searches relentlessly for Meerab after she flees the haveli, only to find that she is lost to him, both physically and emotionally. As time passes, Meerab grapples with the painful aftermath of her decision, learning of her unexpected pregnancy while facing the harsh reality of her isolation. With nowhere else to turn, she returns to Murtasim, not as his wife but as the mother of his child, determined to reclaim her agency amidst the shadows of their shared past. However, the joy of new life is tainted by the knowledge that her pregnancy is fraught with danger, threatening her very existence. As Meerab navigates this precarious situation, the struggle between love, resentment, and survival unfolds, forcing both characters to confront their choices and the consequences that bind them together in ways they never anticipated.
