Now, his psychiatrist resigns- there's no point in trying to rehabilitate him, not after almost two decades of silence. The job is taken on by a younger psychiatrist, Ellen Hill, who wants to try one more time to reach him; with the right treatment, she believes he can be rehabilitated. But then, he escapes. With Ellen in close pursuit, Michael returns home, his sights set on another family who have unknowingly become his new obsession. The confrontation between psychiatrist and patient turns into a deadly game of cat and mouse, with a frightened town trapped in the centre of it.
